LOVE

Why is love so difficult to show. How can something as simple as love be so difficult at times. We love those who mean the most to us, but even unbelievers love their friends. How can we love to the point of completely giving up our rights for others. This has been a struggle for me. Believe it or not God showed me that I love people for myself. I love them to get the approval of men. Man! This is so though. LOVE.... it is that simple. Giving up my rights for the love of others. God has shown me many areas that I have been selfish in and not thought of others. We hold on to what we think we deserve and in reality we don't deserve anything. We are free in Christ; however, if we take this liberty and cause others to stumble then we are not showing love. Take Paul for example: He said that he was willing to never again use his liberties in Christ if they were causing a brother to stumble. Wow! If wearing pants is a liberty that I have that causes my brother to stumble, how can I be so selfish as to keep doing it? If listening to a certain kind of music or even music at all causes someone to stumble, why do I continue to do it. Now, you could argue that we will never know when we are causing someone to stumble. If we do know, we will always be causing someone to stumble. But! it all goes back to love and the motive of your heart. If wearing a certain style of clothing or going to see a specific movie causes someone to stumble or struggle in their mind, then WHY! do it? God has called us to love and yes, we have liberty in Him but, it is a sin if we use these liberties out of selfishness. Is love more important? It should be.
