What is an Idol? The Lord has shown me recently that I had idols in my life. It seemed kind of silly at first because I didn’t understand what an idol really was. I looked up the word idol to see what it really meant.
Idol- An image used as an object of worship.
2. A false god.
3. Something that is adored, often blindly or excessively.
4. Something visible but without substance.
We often don't realize when we have made something an idol in our lives; the Lord must reveal them to us. I know God revealed things in my life that were becoming more important to me then him. Jonah 2:8 "Those who cling to worthless idols forfeit the grace that could be theirs." It is funny but it seemed to be the little things that the Lord was tested me on to see if I was willing to give those things up. It is amazing to me how the Lord speaks through the smallest things. I want to encourage you to listen because the Lord wants to speak to you. He speaks with a whisper and if we don’t take a moment to quiet our lives then we won’t hear him. Psalm 46:10 "Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth." Praise the Lord for his love never ends he is always calling us back, for we are his child and he will never leave us nor forsake us. Sometimes we need to just be reminded of these things, I know it helps me to just put it into words.
Thanks for letting me share from the heart. Living in His moment, Morgan

good post sis love you
Hey Morgan! Thanks for that word. You know, I dealt with that exact thing a few weeks ago. I had a couple of idols that the lord showed me I needed to get rid of. And God used the verse that you quoted in my life during the Searcy trip. I can totally relate to what you are saying, and I appreciate you sharing what God is doing in your life. It ministers to me when I hear of others dealing with what I am going through, and overcoming it by the power of God.
On a different note, I am leaving for camp in Waco tomorrow. Would you be praying for me? That I would learn everything that God wants me to hear, and that I would minister to other girls there?
Also, if you would be praying for my friend, Anna. (she is the one with cystic fibrosis) She was supposed to be going with me to camp, but she got put in the hospital about two weeks ago. Anyway, she didn't recover fast enough, and therefore she can't go to camp. Just pray that she would be at peace with not going. And that she would be well enough to go home. I don't really know what else she needs prayer for, so if you would pray for those things, I would REALLY appreciate it.
Love you girl!
I'm going to miss you!
Rachel M.
Great Thoughts!
Thanks for that!
I love you, have a good day!
I will be praying Rachel, thanks for sharing and have fun at camp. Morgan
